MCA cares about our natural heritage

Proteas are part of our Fynbos heritage

Far Left: Brian: Preparing to serve watermelon. This was his nature- sweet and refreshing as the fruit and always ready to serve.     Left: Reggie-  our new chairperson. Reggie develops tabletennis in Ravensmead amongst the youth and is involved in his local church.

Share some funny community stuff...Lets laugh together too.

Chairperson and Founder Brian Arendse died January 2009. We look forward to interactive leadership from Reggie Petersen the new chairperson. Reggie was the Deputy Chairperson for a number of years and is also a founder member. Glenville Arendse, secretary, is an important contributor to MCA. Corrin, a longstanding member is very involved with food security and runs a Nutrition Centre in one of the poorer areas.  I, Jeanette, manage the Legislative component and I am the Ward Forum Representative for MCA. I also assist the secretary and will be handling the website and blogs so I guess that I am really the dog's body... or is it the cart horse?

MCA website and blogs: as simple as ABC: a basic information and resource to enrich and capacitate the grassroots civil society and ourselves and to record some of our local history.

Glen is not only the secretary but a great educator and musician. Look up his band The Khoi Connection

Below and right of Table Mountain:  Members of MCA. Ricky is involved with Potjiekos competitions

MCA slipped into a different operational mode almost without noticing!

MCA is increasingly becoming a conduit for information, support and for working with legislative issues such as By-Laws and Policies.

It is important for organisations to respond to the actual demands the social situation brings to it. It is this responsive dynamic that calls organisations into being and that sustains its existance.

MCA intuitively responded and adapted and looks forward to a continued and growing if different interactive Civil Society relationship.

The Ward Forum meets at night- a long day for staff but allows community can participate. Senior Rep from Reyterwacht and (R) Mariette,Sub-Council Manager

Photos are generally taken by myself: you see what I see. Enjoy
